August 7th

Hello and welcome to my 857th blog. I used to be a blog-obssesed child and had one about my life with diabetes, fashion/ science (yes, rolled into one blog), had multiple tumblrs, and followed a bunch of bloggers wishing the life of getting free J.Crew and Kate Spade clothing was mine. I've grown up a little bit since then and have been inspired by Yves from Loona and a lot of online culture that has been shifting back to more long-form methods of documenting life; thus, I now have my 858th blog (not that I'm counting or anything). I'm hoping to just kind of share my life with friends, family, and random strangers on the internet and have a place to reflect on what is happening around me.

Currently, my blood sugar is 248 with two up arrows, so that is not fun, but other than that I think I am doing pretty okay. I've recently moved back to Milwaukee to start my internship in Special Collections (yes, I blog there too...) and have so far been mostly enjoying the midwest summer. It usually isn't as hot or humid here as it is back in Georgia, but the lack of regular air conditioner usage in this state is slowly killing me.

Besides being at my internship and doing thesis research, I have been trying to relax while summer is still here. I've been having way too much fun reading through all of the Hobonichi Store updates, reading books (recently finished Happy Place by Emily Henry, now working on Bunny by Mona Awad), playing Animal Crossing, and hanging out with friends, whether just taking a walk, running to Trader Joe's, driving around the city, or just sitting in Barnes & Noble reading for way too long.

I'm at a loss for words, so at this point in the post I will put in some pictures of what has been happening in my life as of late.

Exhibit A: Putting a little TOO much effort into planning.

Exhibit B: I absolutely love the fact that I live near beaches, even if they are for lakes, rather than the sea.

Exhibit C: I have been on a matcha and green in general kick as of late.

I will admit that while these photos and words so far seem all sunshiney and rainbow-like, I still have been missing home a little bit. Being so far away from my parents, siblings, and of course the cats and my fish is always tough, so I do my best to fill in those times with fun activities and I do still call home almost every day (thank you Steve Jobs for inventing facetime).

Anyways, I am getting out of here! Have a wonderful day and I wish I could impart you with some wisdom as a sign-off, but I've got nothing.
